Centralized Management

Macrium SiteBackup

Centralized backup and recovery across many servers and workstations at once — built on Macrium's SiteManager Platform, the same infrastructure behind SiteDeploy.

What SiteBackup Does

Faster Backup & Recovery

Built on the same engine improvements as Reflect X — Macrium reports SiteBackup roughly doubling backup/recovery speed and cutting restore times by up to 50% versus the previous generation.

Built-In PXE Recovery

An out-of-the-box PXE server means bare-metal recovery over the network without manually building and maintaining rescue media for every site.

Intelligent File Filtering

Granular control over exactly what gets backed up, so you can prioritize critical data and cut storage/network usage instead of imaging everything by default.

Tag-Based RPO Scheduling

Group machines by tag and enforce different recovery point objectives per group, instead of one schedule for the whole environment.

Real-Time Reporting & Alerting

Centralized visibility into backup status across every managed machine, with alerting for audit and compliance needs.

On-Premises Control

Runs on infrastructure you control rather than a third-party cloud backend — relevant for organizations with data-residency or compliance requirements.

SiteBackup vs Server vs SiteDeploy

Three different tools for three different jobs — here's how to tell which one you need.

Macrium Reflect Server / Server Plus

Backup for a single server (SQL/Exchange-aware, Hyper-V guest backup).

Use this when: You're protecting one server, not managing backup across many machines centrally.

Macrium SiteDeploy

Centralized OS image deployment — getting Windows onto machines, not backing them up.

Use this when: You need to roll out or re-image many machines from a golden image.

Macrium SiteBackup

Centralized backup and recovery management across many servers and workstations at once.

Use this when: You're managing backup/recovery for an entire fleet from one place and need RPO/RTO enforcement, reporting, and network-based bare-metal recovery.

Built-In Network Recovery

One of SiteBackup's more specific advantages is a built-in PXE server for bare-metal recovery. When a managed machine fails to boot, it can be recovered over the network without an administrator hunting down a USB rescue drive built for that exact hardware — the recovery environment is served centrally, the same way SiteDeploy serves OS images.

Combined with intelligent file filtering (choosing what actually needs backing up rather than imaging everything by default) and tag-based scheduling (different recovery point objectives for different groups of machines), SiteBackup is aimed at IT teams managing backup policy across a fleet, not configuring each machine's backup individually.
